Dr Romain Guyon

Post-Doctoral Research Associate

Romain-Guyon
Romain Guyon is a postdoctoral researcher in biomedical engineering and vaccine development at the Jenner Institute and the IBME, Oxford University.

During his PhD at Oxford, he developed a delayed vaccine delivery technology using microfluidics. The technology relies on biodegradable microcapsules that encapsulate vaccine doses, which are released after a tunable delay in vivo, eliminating the need for any further booster injections. Its use has been validated in a mouse model with the R21 malaria vaccine, and Romain was awarded the 2022 Michelson Prize for his work.
He currently leads the conception, development, and testing of delayed vaccine delivery technologies within the Milicic group and in collaboration with Prof. Stride at Oxford University.
