Dr Shams Hussein

Dr Shams Hussein is a pharmaceutical scientist with a strong background in drug formulation and biopharmaceutical development. She earned her Bachelor’s, MSc, and PhD in Pharmacy, focusing on the design and optimisation of nano drug delivery systems.
During her doctoral research, she specialised in the formulation of nanoparticles for siRNA delivery, characterising their physicochemical properties, in vitro performance, cellular transfection and protein expression. Currently, she focuses on optimising mRNA vaccine production, encompassing both upstream and downstream processes, contributing to scalable and reproducible vaccine manufacturing platforms.
